In the End

Amy and I finally made it to France where I gave my sister the fright of her life because she thought I was poisoned. You see, our parents are dead and so is our grandmother, Grace Cahill who has challenged us, in her Will, to find the 39 clues and ultimately the reward of a lifetime. Amy and I, it appears, are the main competition, and all the other families are looking to us to provide them with the answers to the 39 clues.

My sister and I found, inside the vase, our second clue. It read, “As thou charge this, so I charge thee. Use thy skills the truth to free.” We could see that this was not going to be an easy task. The area around us, while beautiful, was full of noise and lights everywhere. We had to concentrate to solve this clue. However, it was not going to be a walk in the park.

Amy kept remembering what our grandmother had told her which was, “You will make me proud”. Just at that moment Alistair, Irina and the Holts showed up to take the vial and again our lives would be challenged once again. We were running away as fast as our legs could take us but the three families were quicker than we thought. Somehow Amy managed to escape but I couldn’t. What was to become of me?

At first, Amy thought I was poisoned, as she saw me dangling from the ceiling. Amy was willing to exchange the glass vial and the clue, all for the antidote to save me from certain death. I managed to tell her that I was all right and was only try to trick the other groups. After fighting off Alistair, Irina and the Holts, once again, my sister and I were ready for our next clue.

Amy and I managed to rearrange the word RESOLUTION. It spelled IRON SOLUTE which was used for sheet music and our next stop was going to be Vienna, Austria where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (WAM) lived. You see, WAM was written on one of the sheet music and as I mentioned earlier, Amy and I were the main competition for the other families due to our knowledge and clue solving abilities.

The People Never to Trust

Mr. McIntyre, our grandmother’s lawyer, told Amy, my sister, and I never to trust anyone as they are all seeking to find the vast sum of wealth. If we did try and trust someone, we would only be in great danger due to their cunningness.

Amy and I learned our lesson gradually through our first encounter with Irina Spasky, a Russian lady who used to be a spy. She was not very attractive but her vanity kept her from befriending us because she knew we were her main competition. To our surprise, Irana came at us with poison injectors in her fingernails. While we did manage to escape death, it was a somber wake up call for us.

Then came the Holts who set the explosion and fire where my sister and I barely escaped alive. Madison, Reagan, Hamilton, Eisenhower and Mary–Todd Holt, who all looked like GI Joe figures to me, tried to seize their opportunity to rid us from the competition. My sister and I used all our senses to survive the attack, only to become stronger.

Finally, there was Jonah Wizard who at first appeared to be our friend, but in the end only wanted our answers to the clues. When Amy and I first met him beside a miniature model of the Eiffel Tower, with the aroma of freshly baked bread, we thought that we had finally met an ally. Wow! Were we ever wrong! Johah, too, had only one thing in mind and that was to win.

Finding the clues and ultimately solving the puzzle was dangerous beyond belief, but that only made it more exciting for Amy and I. We were really to proceed as planned, keeping in mind what Mr. McIntyre had told us. Amy and I were now more aware of our surroundings and more alert, like a lioness on the hunt.

The 1st Clue

My sister, Amy, and I received our first clue. The first clue read, "RESOLUTION: The fine print to guess, Seek out Richard S.........." At first my sister and I did not quite know where to begin. However, we somehow thought about poor Richard's Almanack - 1739 Richard Saunders. Richard Saunders turned out to be the pseudonym for Benjamin Franklin. However, as we were working through the clue, our room caught on fire and while we barely escaped with our lives, we ended up heading for Philadelphia as that is where Benjamin Franklin conducted his experiments.

Once in Philadelphia, we started to dig around. We learned that Benjamin Franklin did not actually invent electricity but rather that lightning was the same as electricity. Mr. Franklin went on to invent the lightning rods to protect buildings and experimented with batteries. My sister and I also learned that it was the printing business that made Ben Franklin rich. Finally, we also learned that Mr. Franklin helped write the Declaration of Independence and Constitution and was even an ambassador to England and France.

Receiving the 1st Clue

I loved my grandmother, Grace Cahill, who looked after my older sister Amy and I when our parents died in a tragic fire in our home in 2001. Ever since then, our grandmother was everything to us and now she was gone, too. Today we find ourselves at my grandmother's funeral. There were over 400 people who attended the service and I think that most of them were there expecting to receive something when my grandmother's Will was going to be read. All those with gold invitations, my sister and I included, gathered in my grandmother's home and waited for her lawyer and executor, Mr. McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre played a video of my grandmother. My grandmother, in her video, said, that we could take a bank voucher for $1,000,000 or receive 1 of 39 clues that would lead us to receive the most important treasure in the world and make us powerful beyond belief. My sister and I chose the clues.
